New organisational structure and Management responsibilities

To strengthen the company further and increase focus, Nordkalk has implemented a new organisational structure. From 1 October 2022, the company has established a separate quicklime business division and two new geographical regions in Northern Europe.

“By establishing a new  quicklime business division, we will be able to increase our focus on quicklime, implement the energy transformation and upgrade our kiln network”, says Nordkalk’s CEO Paul Gustavsson.

To seize market opportunities and to develop its carbonate business, specialty and circular products in the Nordics, Nordkalk has created a new Nordic Region covering its operations in Finland and Sweden. A separate Baltic Region has been created to strengthen the company’s position and to generate growth in the Baltic markets.

“These new business units will continue close co-operation while focusing on serving our customers in Northern Europe. The new structure allows us to speed up our sustainability development and thus provide our customers with high-quality products with less environmental impact”, Paul Gustavsson continues.

New Management team responsibilities

Mikael Furu, who has previously led Nordkalk’s Northern European Region, takes the lead of the new quicklime division.

Martin Bains from SigmaRoc has started as Nordkalk’s new Industrial Director, reporting to Mikael Furu and with dotted line directly to CEO Paul Gustavsson. He is also a member of the Nordkalk Management Team.

Anssi Koikkalainen has been nominated as EVP responsible for Nordkalk’s Nordic Region. Previously he has been responsible for the New Business division.

Gediminas Skvernys has started as the head of Nordkalk’s new Baltic Region. He has also been appointed as a member of the Nordkalk Management team.

The current Central Europe Region and corporate functions will continue as they are, and the Management Team responsibilities will remain. There are no personnel reductions connected to this reorganisation.
