One of Nordkalk’s three underground mines is located in Louhi, though it’s not in active use right now. Louhi’s lime kiln was shut down during summer 2019.

Main products: soil ilmprovement lime, aggregates
Main applications: agriculture, building infrastucture
Nordkalk’s operations in Louhi started in 1995, but industrial quarrying and grinding of limestone dates back to 1930’s.
